Pastor Andy's blog!

Yesterday was a great day in the Lord. The singing was stirring, the testimonies were exhorting, and the preaching was challenging. During the morning worship hour I preached on the subject of "Take Heed." This phrase is used 5 times in the scripture and contains several subjects that pertain to the life of a believer. The morning's subject dealt with Christian liberty out of 1 Corinthians 8. The evening service was equally good with great singing and testimonies. I preached on the Rules for Relationship from Proverbs 18. The message had to do with marriage and having a healthy home by obeying God's Word regarding our responsibilities as husbands and wives. This chapter contains that great verse which says: "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." Most believe this verse is a reference to Christ. I believe that it can apply to the life of Christ but it is not exclusively about Christ. The application I made last evening was that our mate ought to be a friend that is closer to us than a brother. How close is your relationship to your spouse? If it is anything less that Proverbs 18:24 implies then you have work to do my friend. Until next time JUST THINKING!!
